Unique Experience
During my teens I had a close friend struggle with anorexia and bulimia for over 4 years. During this time I learned so much about how eating disorders work, and just how ingrained they can become in someone’s life.
I saw the changes and complications that no textbook or weekend workshop will ever be able to teach, so I have a unique perspective and methodology when treating bulimia.
Those 4 years made me determined to help people with eating disorders, and led me to where I am today as a therapist. I understand your concerns and how you may feel like a prisoner in your own body.
I’m a proud to be a member of beat, the Eating Disorders Association. Beat are the leading UK charity for people with eating disorders, and their families.
As part of my commitment to beat, I attend regular training events to ensure I have the best possible skill-set, and I also provide unique advice to beat on how to deal with eating disorders.
There Is Light At The End Of The Tunnel
I see many people beating eating disorders, and there is no reason why you cannot be one of them. Therapy can help you, and although sometimes challenging, with hard work and commitment you will be able to:
- Stop emotional eating
- Gain control of your eating habits – maintain a healthy and stable weight
- Leave behind feelings of frustration & self hate
- Resolve problems that have been holding you back
- Accept and understand who you really are
- Re-connect with those around you
- Get on with your life & embrace all the opportunities that await you
I use a unique mix of CBT, counselling and EMDR to provide you with a thorough and lasting solution to problems around food. We will work together, exploring and changing all that is causing you problems around food, and ensuring your recovery is a lasting one.
